Opportunity Information: Apply for NLG LIBRARIES FY24
The National Leadership Grants for Libraries Program (NLG-L) seeks to support innovative projects that tackle key challenges in the library and archives sectors, ultimately benefiting the American public. Successful projects should lead to new models, tools, research, services, or partnerships that can be adapted and expanded to maximize the impact of federal funding.
The program aims to achieve several objectives:
1. Enhance the workforce and institutional capabilities needed to manage national information systems and address public information and educational needs. 2. Empower libraries and archives to play a prominent role in fostering community well-being and civic participation. 3. Improve access to and utilization of information and collections through collaboration, thereby minimizing redundancy and broadening outreach. 4. Enhance libraries' ability to provide essential services during emergencies or disasters. 5. Foster collaboration among libraries, archives, and museums for the benefit of their communities.
Diversity, equity, and inclusion are central to IMLS's mission, encouraging projects to reach out to a diverse range of populations, including marginalized and underserved communities.
The application process is divided into two phases. Applicants must first submit Preliminary Proposals by September 20, 2023. Selected applicants will then be invited to submit Full Proposals, due by March 20, 2024, for consideration of funding.Apply for NLG LIBRARIES FY24
